Yes, there is nightlife

Santa Teresa is social, especially in dry season and toward the end of the week. There is no single club district. Which place has the good night depends on the event.

Places we currently recommend checking

House of Somos

By day it is a hotel, café and workspace. At night it has live music and DJ sets, usually until midnight, and Thursday is its big night.

Uma

Electronic music parties and live music right on the beach. Check their Instagram for the weekly program.

Kooks

Kooks Smokehouse and Bar is open daily from 7 AM to 2 AM and is one of the last places to close. Beer, cocktails, good music and a social crowd, and you can have dinner there first.

Tikiliano

Tikiliano Bar opens at 6 PM. From Wednesday to Saturday it stays open until 2:30 AM, and events usually start around 10 PM, with live bands, international DJs, cumbia, electronic and Latin nights. The lineup changes often, so check their Instagram.

What nights are best?

Thursday through Sunday are usually the strongest nights, especially in dry season. Events can be announced only a few days ahead, so old weekly schedules are not very useful.

How late does it go?

Nights start around sunset and end by 3 AM at the latest. House of Somos usually goes until midnight, Kooks until 2 AM and Tikiliano events until about 2:30 AM. These are bars, live music and DJs. There are no big clubs.

Where is there live music?

House of Somos, Uma and Tikiliano all program live music. Among restaurants, El Facón has live music on weekends and Satori has it at night. See our restaurant guide for where to eat first.

How do you get home?

Uber is not a reliable option in Santa Teresa and taxis are limited, so arrange the ride back through your accommodation before you go out, or stay within walking distance of the center.

How we plan a night out ourselves

We usually decide after dinner. We look at what is happening that night, choose the place with the music or atmosphere we want and keep it simple.

Frequently asked questions
