Info Santa Teresa (operated by ISTCR, LLC) helps travelers discover and book tours, transportation and local services in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it and how we protect it.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use our site, we may collect:

  • Contact details: your name, email address and phone/WhatsApp number.

  • Booking details: the activity or transfer you choose, date and time, number of travelers, ages of children when child pricing applies, and any notes you send us.

  • Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

  • Messages: anything you send us by email, WhatsApp or through a form on our site.

  • Technical data: basic information such as browser, device type, approximate location and the page that brought you to our site, used to keep the site secure and understand how it is used.

  • Marketing preference: whether you agreed to receive travel tips and offers from us.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Process your booking request and confirm it with the local provider.

  • Send you booking updates, confirmations and a reminder before your activity.

  • Put you in contact with your guide or driver so you can coordinate the details of your activity.

  • Answer your questions before, during and after your trip.

  • Ask for a review after your activity.

  • Send you travel tips and offers, only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.

  • Improve our website and services, and meet legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Who we share it with

We only share your information when it is needed to provide the service:

  • Local tour and transportation providers: the guide or driver who operates your booking receives your name, contact details and booking details so they can run your activity and contact you.

  • Stripe: to process payments securely.

  • Service providers that help us run the business, such as website hosting (Framer), email (Google Workspace) and booking automation tools. They only process your data on our behalf.

  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar tools to keep the site working and to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, although some features may not remember your preferences.

How long we keep your information

We keep booking records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. After that, we delete or anonymize them.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • See the personal information we hold about you.

  • Correct it.

  • Delete it, unless we must keep it by law.

  • Stop sending you marketing emails.

Info Santa Teresa operates in Costa Rica and uses service providers based in other countries, such as the United States. By using our services, your information may be processed outside your country.
