Overview
This afternoon and evening experience combines three highlights in one trip: Isla Tortuga, sunset and bioluminescence. Transportation starts from Santa Teresa or Mal País before heading to Bahía Ballena Dock in Tambor. From there, enjoy a scenic boat ride to Isla Tortuga, time for swimming or snorkeling and relaxing on the beach, lunch, drinks and beer, sunset in Tambor Bay and a bioluminescence experience after dark. You can enjoy the glowing water from the boat or enter the water when conditions allow. The tour finishes back in Tambor around 7:00 PM before the shuttle returns to Santa Teresa or Mal País. A simple, beautiful way to enjoy the day with your group, without having to plan every detail.

Pickup
Shuttle pickup from Santa Teresa or Mal País hotels, hostels and villas starts at approximately 12:45–1:00 PM.
Check-in in Tambor
Check-in is at Bahía Ballena Dock in Tambor at 1:45 PM, followed by a scenic 35-minute boat ride along the coastline.
Isla Tortuga
Enjoy swimming or snorkeling directly from the boat, followed by time to relax and explore Tortuga Island’s beach. The afternoon timing means the island is usually quieter after many daytime visitors have left.
Lunch
At approximately 4:30 PM, enjoy the lunch included in your tour.
Sunset
After leaving the island, the boat heads toward Playa Vivos in Tambor Bay to enjoy sunset over the surrounding hills.
Bioluminescence
Once night falls, experience the glowing bioluminescent water. You can enjoy it from the boat or enter the water for the full experience when conditions allow.
Return
Around 7:00 PM the boat returns to Bahía Ballena Dock. The shuttle then returns to Santa Teresa or Mal País, approximately 60 minutes away.
